Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, has removed state forest minister Harak Singh Rawat from the Cabinet. He was also expelled from the BJP for a six-year period. On Monday, he is expected to join the Congress.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has fired state forest minister Harak Singh Rawat from the Cabinet. Harak Singh Rawat was likewise kicked out of the BJP for a six-year period.

In the presence of Harish Rawat and other top party leaders, Harak Singh Rawat is expected to join the Congress on Monday.

CM Dhami had written to the Governor recommending that Harak Singh Rawat be removed from the Uttarakhand Cabinet, according to BJP sources.

After meeting with some Congress leaders ahead of the next Assembly election, he was reportedly removed from the Cabinet and the party’s primary membership.

Two additional BJP MLAs are expected to join the Congress, in addition to Harak Singh Rawat.

UTTARAKHAND ELECTION

On February 14, 2022, the Uttarakhand Assembly election will be held in a single phase. The results of the election will be announced on March 10.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 57 of the state’s 70 Assembly constituencies in the 2017 assembly elections, which were contested in a single phase.

The incumbent BJP, the Congress-led by Harish Rawat, and Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party are expected to fight it out in the Uttarakhand Assembly elections this time.
