Grim discovery in Tarn Taran: family of 3 found dead, home robbed
Tragedy strikes Punjab as family of three found dead in Tarn Taran home, house robbed
In a shocking incident, three members of a family were found murdered in their home on the outskirts of Tung village near Harike Pattan. The victims were identified as Iqbal Singh, his wife Lakhwinder Kaur, and his sister-in-law Seeta. Their lifeless bodies, with limbs tied, were discovered in separate rooms of the house.
Details unveiled by domestic help and son-in-law
The family's domestic help, Ashok from Bihar, informed the police that four men arrived at the house in a car on Tuesday night. These assailants allegedly tied his hands and forcibly took him in their car. Ashok later recounted that he was thrown near Harike canals by the perpetrators. The horrifying scene was brought to light around 6 am when Iqbal Singh's son-in-law, Charanjit Singh, found the bodies while coming to the house for his morning routine of milking buffaloes.
Robbery angle investigated by authorities
Upon inspection, Charanjit Singh noticed household items scattered, and valuable possessions, including jewelry, cash, and a .315 bore rifle, were missing. The police are actively pursuing various theories, including the possibility of robbery, to solve the case. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashwani Kapur revealed that Ashok identified the perpetrators as the same individuals who had recently stayed with Iqbal two days prior. The authorities are working to establish the identity of these individuals.
A case has been registered under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 302 (murder), against unidentified persons at the Harike police station. The motive behind this brutal crime is yet to be determined as the investigation unfolds.
